We have been blessed to enjoy the support of Irvington area churches since Hope Counseling Ministry's inception in 1990. We have served clients from many area churches, and we are happy to provide pastors with several kinds of support. For any of the services below, please call Ellen Hodge or Penny Zimmerman at 356-4037.
Referrals. If you have congregants who need mental health services and you're not sure where to send them, give us a call. We'll be happy to discuss the person's needs with you (confidentially, of course) and make suggestions to you.
Consultation. Do you wonder if a person, couple, or family in your congregation might need more counseling, or a different kind of assistance, than you can provide? Call and talk it over confidentially with Ellen or Penny.
Workshops for Pastors. Pastors have particular job pressures and face particular risks. If your denomination or ministerial association would like a brief presentation, a workshop, or a retreat to address topics such as burnout, social isolation, self-care, setting boundaries with demanding congregations, maintaining ethical integrity, caring for your own family, or any of other myriad challenges of your vocation, Ellen Hodge and Penny Zimmerman are available to meet with you and plan a presentation or program to meet the needs of your particular group. Half-hour presentations are available at no charge. Others services are available at reasonable fees.
Workshops for Congregations: Both Ellen and Penny are available to speak to classes and groups, make presentations, and lead workshops and retreats for your congregation. We may also be able to help address other needs your church may have (e.g., a group for single parents, divorce recovery, healthy dating for teens, grief and loss, self-care for busy women, etc.)
